funny boys

7th grade boys come up with the most hilarious stories.  Yesterday I had a practicum student from a nearby university teach my classes. She did a lesson with them to get their creative juices flowing. It was great! They came up with really great ideas in a short amount of time.

Class went as follows:
-Students wrote a list of as many nouns they could think of
-Students wrote a list of as many -ing verbs they could think of (running, crying etc)
-Circle their 3 favorites from each list
-Cut these words out and put into two different buckets (verb/noun)
-Pass out to each student one verb and one noun.
-They will be silly, like crying folder
-Students write a story about why the folder is crying for example
-Then they draw their story!

After this they could share with the class. They were cracking me up. Here is one:

         "One day Dallas went to hang time and jumped on the tramps for two hours and when he left he couldn't stop jumping until he became giant legs that squished the world. The end?
          Light years away from where where earth use to be an alien looked up to the sky to see two wambo legs coming at him and his world. --dun dunn dunnnnn!"
